The SATCOM Software Radio (SSR) prototype is a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 7, lightweight, receive-only, NSA Type-1 Crypto capable Integrated Broadcast Service (IBS) – Common Interactive Broadcast (CIB) receiver with extensible waveform capability. SSR interfaces with the Tactical Receive System (TRS) and was designed to provide force tracking anywhere, as a backup to existing CIB radios or as an extremely low-cost, lightweight alternative radio.
Applications.
The small and lightweight SSR was designed with the tactical user in mind: manpack, unmanned systems (UxS), weapons add-on, emergency backup, and/or wherever IBS data is processed, stored, or employed.
